In 2013, the national energy consumption reached 3.75 billion t standard coal, accounting for about 22% of the world's total energy consumption, of which industrial energy consumption still accounts for more than 70% of domestic primary energy consumption. According to statistics, in carbon emissions, industrial emissions accounted for 72%, the motor is the end of industrial energy-saving products, is the largest power consumption equipment.

According to the EU's "Increasing the Market Share of High-Efficiency Motors and Drives" research report, industrial motors consume 73% of industrial electricity consumption. Among them, in the EU industrial sector, the proportion of electric energy consumed by each electric drive system is 22% for pumps, 16% for fans, 18% for air compressors, 7% for refrigeration compressors, 2% for conveyors and 35% for other motors, I .e. 63% for fans, pumps and compressors.

Data show that in 2013, the number of motors in China was about 2.1 billion kW, and the total power consumption was about 3.5 trillion kWh, accounting for 64% of the total power consumption of the whole society, of which the total power consumption in the industrial field was 2.6 trillion kWh, accounting for 75% of the industrial power consumption. Every 1% increase in motor energy efficiency in the industrial field can save about 26 billion kWh of electricity annually. Improving the efficiency of the motor system by 5% ~ 8% as a whole can save 1300~230 billion kWh per year, which is equivalent to the power generation of 2~3 Three Gorges power stations.

Permanent magnet drive technology is a new technology to improve the overall energy efficiency of the motor system. It includes permanent magnet eddy current flexible drive energy-saving devices, permanent magnet motors, permanent magnet couplings, permanent magnet couplers, etc. It is an important part of the motor system. It has a positive effect on the safe operation, energy saving and consumption reduction of the overall improvement of the motor system. Energy saving and emission reduction is the eternal theme of social development. Motor and system energy saving is the main battlefield of industrial energy saving and emission reduction, and technological innovation and technology guidance are important means to achieve energy saving and emission reduction and improve motor energy efficiency.

According to the characteristics of the efficiency curve of the gear motor, the motor efficiency is the highest and the operation is the most economical when the load is between 80% and 100. However, in practical application, the load rate of most gear reduction motors is often below 60% (the efficiency of gear reduction motor driving system in China is lower, only 30% ~ 40%), the phenomenon of "big horse-drawn trolley" is very common, the waste of electric energy is as high as 30%, and long-term low-load operation is easy to cause damage to gear reduction motors.

The permanent magnet transmission technology makes there is no rigid connection between the motor and the load. Through the relative movement of the permanent magnet and the conductor, the energy transmission in the air gap is realized. It solves the problems of centering, starting, damping, speed regulation and overload protection of the rotating load system, and makes the efficiency of magnetic transmission reach 99%.

The buffer starting of the motor is realized, because the motor does not need to overcome the load inertia, which greatly reduces the peak current, reduces power consumption, and achieves the effect of saving energy and reducing equipment wear. From the point of view of energy saving and emission reduction, using permanent magnet motor instead of asynchronous AC motor has the advantages of small volume and 100 efficiency, and the output speed of motor reaches 300r/s, which is the best working state. At this time, a small star reducer is carried on the back cover of the motor, and the output speed can reach several to tens of r/s to meet the needs of various working conditions, such as power plants, steel plants, cement plants, petrochemical and chemical and other occasions, for motor-driven fans, water pumps, belt conveyors and ball mills and other equipment proposed energy-saving transmission solutions, to achieve 40% of the power saving effect. For example, the ball mill and the ball mill drive system are typical low-speed and high-torque drive systems. Permanent magnet motors can achieve low-speed and high-torque continuous operation. Asynchronous motors and DC motors cannot achieve this. This characteristic makes permanent magnet motors at low speeds. The application of torque transmission system is very broad.

The rare earth permanent magnet material of the permanent magnet motor has excellent magnetic properties. After magnetizing, it can establish a strong permanent magnetic field without additional energy, which is used to replace the electric excitation field of the traditional motor. The rare earth permanent magnet motor not only has high efficiency, but also has a simple structure, and can be small in size and light in weight. It can not only achieve high performance (such as ultra-efficient, ultra-high speed, ultra-high response speed) that traditional excitation motors cannot match, but also can be made to meet the specific operating requirements of special motors, such as elevator traction motors, automotive motors, etc.

The same is true for elevator motors. The permanent magnet synchronous traction machine is a gearless traction machine. Compared with the traditional geared traction machine, it does not have a reduction gearbox. It has the characteristics of compact structure, small size, light weight, low temperature rise, low energy consumption, low noise, maintenance-free, wide speed range and stable operation. Under normal circumstances, it can save about 40% energy compared with non-permanent magnet geared traction machines, and has high cost performance.

China is a large rare earth country. Permanent magnet materials and permanent magnet technology will be widely used in the country's seven strategic new industries, such as energy-saving and environmental protection industries, new energy, continuous permanent magnet motors for wind turbines, and new energy vehicles., Many high-end manufacturing, and information industries use permanent magnet materials.
